Teens Wanted In Multi-State Crime Spree, Firing At Troopers Captured By US Marshals

The two Tennessee teens who fired at Pennsylvania State Troopers during a multi-state crime spree have been captured in Hartford, Connecticut, authorities announced.

Jeremiah Begley, 17, and Christian Guerrero Jr., 17, were taken into custody on Thursday, Feb. 27, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Hartford Police, and the PSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit, state police said. They are being held in Connecticut while awaiting extradition to Dauphin County, PA.

The Crime Spree

The chaos began on Feb. 23, 2025, at 12:40 p.m., when a motorist on I-81 in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, reported a passenger in a red Toyota Tundra pointing a firearm at other drivers, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Troopers located the truck in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped off, leading police on a high-speed chase.

As the pursuit reached Manor Drive, suspects in the truck lowered the rear cab window and opened fire on troopers, striking a patrol vehicle’s right headlight. No officers were injured, but police later recovered three empty shell casings from the scene.

The truck, later confirmed stolen from Tennessee, escaped back onto I-81 and was tracked to Walmart in Saint Clair, Schuylkill County, where all four occupants fled on foot.

Troopers quickly arrested 18-year-old Kadence Gooch of Kingsport, Tennessee, and a 17-year-old male, but Begley and Guerrero ran into Walmart, changed their clothes to disguise themselves, and evaded police through an emergency exit.

Fugitive Manhunt Ends In Hartford

State police previously only identified Begley, describing a second suspect as an unidentified white male with a darker complexion and long, wavy black hair.

On Feb. 27, authorities confirmed the second fugitive as Christian Guerrero Jr., also 17.

Both teens were captured in Hartford, Connecticut, where they were found together and arrested without incident.

They remain in custody awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

Charges & Investigation

Police recovered four firearms believed to have been tossed from the stolen truck during the chase.

Gooch, who admitted to driving the truck, was charged with:

  • Attempted homicide.
  • Aggravated assault.
  • Reckless endangerment.
  • Theft.
  • Other related offenses.

He remains held without bail at Dauphin County Prison ahead of a March 4 preliminary hearing.

The 17-year-old passenger arrested with him is being prosecuted as a juvenile, so his case details remain sealed.

Investigators said the group started their crime spree in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Feb. 22, attempting to steal from vehicles before heading north.
